![]() ![]() This "release now, patch later" mentality is really hurting the PC platform, more so than the consoles which generally have more polished releases (with exceptions!). Sadly, this will never happen because of advertising deadlines and so on. Either the games would never get patched, because no-one would be reporting the issues, or the publishers would declare the PC version a failure which in turn would make them reconsider releasing future games on the platform.Īt this point it really is up to the publisher to ensure that the game they are releasing is as polished as possible and if that means delaying it then so be it. In an ideal world, no-one would buy these games at launch but if that happened and no-one bought the games then one of two things would happen. I am starting to feel that publishers just use early adopters of PC games as beta testers. In the meantime, I either have to play something else while I wait for the miracle patch - making buying the game in the first place pointless - or I have to play the game with issues - which in turn means that by the time the miracle patch does arrive that I have had a mostly negative experience compared with what it would have been if I'd waited for the fixes. ![]() ![]() I bought the "upgrade" on the Epic Games Launcher but I have to keep asking myself why, oh why I never learn and just wait before buying ANY PC game these days because 9 times out of 10 they launch with issues that then take weeks or months to fix. ![]()
